⭐️Izzy Leonard- Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice (in Marketing)⭐️

What attracted you to join the team?

I loved how friendly and welcoming everyone was from my first interview. The modern, stylish office environment stood out and I was excited to use social media as part of my role, as it's something I enjoy and feel confident with. I'd been searching for a role in marketing for a while, so when I found this opportunity, it was the perfect fit.

How has your role grown since you started?

Since starting, I've taken on more responsibility, which has helped me build my confidence. I feel more comfortable communicating professionally and handling tasks independently compared to when I first joined.

What surprised you the most about your role?

I was surprised by how involved I am in real business work and how much trust I was given early on. I didn't realise how broad marketing is, it's not just all social media and merchandise but also websites, email campaigns and events.

What skills have you developed here?

I have grown in confidence, especially when communicating and taking on new responsibilities. I've also developed stronger technical skills by using computers and workplace systems, which has been a big step up from my previous retail role.

How would you describe the team in 3 words?

I'd describe the team as friendly, hard-working and supportive.

What motivates you at work?

Honestly, Diet Coke helps! But what really motivates me is the approachable and non-judgemental team around me. Working in an inclusive environment makes me feel encouraged and excited to contribute every day.

⭐️Alice Morgan- Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice (in Customer Support)⭐️

What attracted you to join the team?

The team were friendly and relaxed during my interview, which helped me feel at ease and welcome - like I was already a part of the team. The office space feels modern and professional, while still offering spaces where you can unwind, yes including a pool table!

How has your role grown since you started?

When I started I had never done anything like this before so wasn’t sure what to expect, but as I learnt more and more, I started to expand my tasks and take more responsibility for new roles, first it was replying to emails and then later I needed to answer phones. Soon I’ll be learning how to video conference with customers. Recently, I have been representing the brand in public spaces as well, such as at schools/colleges and our annual show which has felt like a massive step out of my comfort zone! Throughout all this, the team has always been incredibly supportive and eager to help me grow in my role, which made me want to progress further.

What surprised you the most about your role?

Everyday can be so different. Where I work, the team are always keen for you to learn as much as possible about the different roles so are always happy to show you new tasks, you just need to ask. The more you understand your role the more responsibility management wants to entrust to you.

What skills have you developed here?

When I first joined, I was extremely shy and dreaded the thought of speaking to customers on a daily basis. Since then, although it can sometimes still be a struggle, I have grown so much in my communication skills and confidence.

How would you describe the team in 3 words?

Committed. Approachable. Dynamic.

What motivates you at work?

Knowing that I am learning all the time and always improving my key skills. Being surrounded by a supportive team that I know won’t mind helping me if I’m struggling and of course the appeal of getting paid to learn doesn’t hurt either!

⭐️Matt Harris- Progressed from Apprentice to Junior Developer⭐️

What attracted you to join the team?

Team culture and the passion for the project - everyone seemed to be really passionate about the product and collaborated with each other really well.

How has your role grown since you started?

I am in charge of my own internal projects now, completing entire features/modules whereas when I started I was spending as much time as I could learning, I can really feel I’ve grown and my independence has shot up.

What surprised you the most about your role?

All the different tasks I was able to do, from a more open client side role where I would gather project requirements and be involved in meetings with others to a more focused back-end role where I was solely responsible for the technical implementation. I didn't expect such variety and the opportunity to contribute across different phases of development.

What skills have you developed here?

Project management, independent learning, programming patterns, implementation and design, team collaboration, Client-facing communication, requirements gathering and much more.

How would you describe the team in 3 words?

Engaging, Collaborative, Innovative.

What motivates you at work?

Problem solving and the satisfaction of completing a puzzle or finding new ways to do things that improve upon the previous iteration.
